VPTL 2018 Innovation Grants

The new 2017-2018 VPTL Innovation Grant Program combines grant and curriculum development programs from prior years, including Faculty College and the Seed Grant Program. These grants are given to Stanford faculty and instructional teams for course, curriculum, and digital technology development to explore new directions and support priorities expressed by departments, programs, centers and schools. Proposals are due February 15, 2018.

The VPTL Innovation Grant Program provides financial support and project assistance drawn from the entire VPTL office, which now includes the Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD). Proposals will be judged based on the broad categories of innovation, impact, and alignment with department and school priorities. Detailed criteria are given below.

A full copy of the proposal can be found here.

Ends on February 15, 2018

VPTL Innovation Grant Program proposals should be submitted through this online portal and will be accepted until February 15, 2018 at 11:59 pm. Projects proposed in February 2018 should be completed in the 2018-2019 academic year, generally producing courses, pedagogical improvements, or curricular change of continuing value.

Each proposal must be led by a regular full-time academic council faculty member and endorsed by the relevant department and school. Projects of clear strategic value to a department or interdepartmental program may be led by teaching staff of that department, with an academic council faculty member serving as a sponsor responsible for the quality and completion of the project.
